Q: "Are there any controversies in the Bible?"
A: Yes. There are many, many, many controversies in the Bible. There are too many to name, or even imagine. The Bible is the most controversial, loved and hated, destroyed, sought after, and banned book in human history. Not only were there times in human history where even having a Bible could get you killed, but there are huge countries in the world right now where owning a Bible will get you killed.
The Democratic Peoples Republic of (North) Korea (don't let the name fool you, it isn't a democracy) is one. Even owning a Bible will get you sent to the worst prisons you could imagine, or killed. The Bible is so precious to those who know Jesus there that whole churches (they meet in secret in caves and stuff in the middle of the night) don't even own a whole Bible. They actually tear the books out of the Bible to share between the churches, and the churches pass them around. So when the pastor says, "We are studying the book of Matthew this month," it isn't because he just wants to study Matthew. It is because that is the only book of the Bible that church will have that month.
I know a guy who spent several years smuggling Bibles into China (2nd biggest population in the world) because it is illegal to distribute whole Bibles there. People go to jail for that. Many have even died. So, the Bible causes a lot of controversy today, and has caused controversy every since the beginning.
I suspect that you were asking more about things in the Bible that are controversial. Well, the reason the Bible is so scary to countries like China and North Korea is because of what it says. Martin Luther once said something like, "If you read the Bible and find that it is always your friend, then you aren't really reading it." His point was that the Bible creates controversy. It is going to challenge you, point out things in your life that are wrong, and destroy parts of you that are rebelling against God. It is revolutionary. Read it for yourself, and tell me what is controversial to you.
