What is the revolution?

The dictionary defines "revolution" like this:

rev·o·lu·tion     Pronunciation [rev-uh-loo-shuhn]
            -noun

  1. An overthrow or repudiation and the thorough replacement of an established government or political system by the people governed
  2. A radical and pervasive change in society and the social structure, esp. one made suddenly and often accompanied by violence
  3. A sudden, complete or marked change in something
  4. A single turn

That basically defines us.  We are a revolution of teenagers, by teenagers, and for teenagers seeking to make an impact on the world around us.  If we look at every one of the four points of that definition, it clearly describes who we are:

  1. We don't want to live our lives coming to church where professionals feed us little bits of God so we can go back to our lives and do the things we want to do.  We believe that God actually believes in us and that He gives us the power to minister to each other and to the world.  Power to His people!
  2. We want to overthrow the idea of what is normal and right in our society.  We will not accept a world that calls evil things "good" or living in an "anything goes" culture where being lukewarm and ordinary are celebrated.  We believe God has called us to change the world, and we actually believe that through His power, we can.
  3. We believe that our lives are supposed to be lived completely differently, in a way that people on the outside should look in and say, "Hey I want that in my life too."  That means living life in a way that is very different than the world around us."
  4. We want to turn the world on its ear.  We want to live the way the people did when the Church began.  We want to see people healed, lives changed, and God's Kingdom bursting through the world.
